Come with us on a fabulous frolic through Freo (as the locals call it) and we’ll show you a whole world of hidden foodie gems and amazing local secrets that you might otherwise walk past without knowing that they exist!
Price & Duration
$39 | 3.5 Hours
Just a train ride from the CBD, the historic port city of Fremantle is a must-visit location for both visitors and locals alike. Absolutely choc full of stunning architecture, rich history, cracking coffee, fantastic food and scintillating street art all wrapped up in laid back bohemian atmosphere, it really does have it all. Over the course of the tour you’ll be guided through some of its hidden gems, local institutions and new eating & drinking hot spots as you soak in the seaside surroundings, learn about its history as the first settlement in Western Australia, experience the impact of the Italian immigrant community and – most importantly of all – eat loads of amazing food with your fellow Food Loosers..
This, however, will not be your typical walking tour. It’s all about interacting with fellow participants to share cuisines, stories and fun. Your guide will point out a few points of interest along the way and suggest things to order at each venue, but beyond that you are free to explore and experiment as much or as little as your hearts desire.
The cost of the guided tour has a tour price of $39. You need to bring approx $25 in coins and small notes with you to purchase the international delights along the way. We promise this will ensure you taste all the great cuisines on offer. At the end of the tour you’ll not only have a full belly but you will have met a whole new group of people and explored Fremantle’s cuisine and the history of this great port city.
A guided tour of Fremantle including culinary gems, hidden hot spots and, of course, our tour guide’s wit, charm, good looks as well as their discussion of the food and culture of the area.
Food samples. Our model is for guests to pay as we go along. Your guide will inform you of food choices at each venue as well as order for the group, but our pay-as-you go method allows us the flexibility to change orders on the spot depending on dietary requirements and changing tour numbers. Total food cost for the tour is $25 per person (plus extra if you’d like a few drinks).
Tours depart at 10:30am sharp, so please be at the meeting point by 10:45am for registration (we have a lot of awesome food to pack in so we need to leave on time).
Opposite the Fremantle Train Station (at the historic fountain at the corner of Market and Phillmore St)
”Even if you are a local you can learn so much and experience so much from this tour. Justin will take you through the streets of Freo showing you some hidden treats for you to try and many more for you to come back again to try in the future. Thoroughly recommend it as a great way for a group to spend a Saturday morning together, especially if you love food.” Ian D (TripAdvisor Review)
“The food tour through Freo was enlightening considering I’ve lived in Perth a majority of my life! The venues we went to were vibrant and I’d never been before. There was variety and plenty of food. The walking was very manageable for most people. Highly recommend and I will be checking out the other tours.” -Kelly K (TripAdvisor Review)
